Wellcome Collection venue hire are delighted to announce that they have won The Sustainability Award at the Conference Awards 2020 virtual ceremony which took place on 17th November. The award is a recognition of the efforts the venue hire team and their catering partners have made towards creating a fully environmentally sustainable offering to their clients.
Here is what the judges had to say about us: “Since its launch, Wellcome Collection has had constant focus on sustainability and CSR, Innovation as well as the Investment in sustainability training for all employees. Great to see such focused attention on the importance of sustainability in the Industry”.
Located in central London and being an extension of the Wellcome Trust – the UK’s largest health charity- Wellcome Collection must ensure environmental responsibilities are met and as such, have implemented a number of initiatives.
One such initiative is Winnow, an electronic measuring system for food waste, which weighs and records all discarded food products to maximise efficiency. Implementing Winnow has led to a 50% reduction on food waste for all our events.
