What inspired you to move into your current position?

I have worked for many start-up companies in the hospitality industry.  This is my second head of sales role in a competitive socialising world – I’m becoming quite the expert in crazy golf!  I really enjoy the pressure and excitement of growing a business and teams from creation to a successful business!
I’m also hugely social and competitive and love going out with having great food and drinks along with a competitive activity – so the job suits my personality and lifestyle down to the ground!

What are 5 things on your bucket list?

  1. To travel around South America for 6 months on a motorbike
  2. Jump out of a plane
  3. Sail around the world
  4. Have a go on all zip wires in the world
  5. Horse ride on a beach in a tropical country during a sunset

“You’d do anything for love, but you wouldn’t do…?”

Get in a helicopter – it was my reoccurring nightmare as a child!

If money wasn’t a factor, how would you spend the rest of your life?

Travelling the world!

Who is your hero?

My mother.  The most selfless woman I have ever met.  She worked in the NHS for over 40 years, brought up 3 girls, was a girl guide leader, looked after my Dad through chronic illness and is now living her best life since retirement travelling around the world doing crazy things!

What social issue is important to you?

Climate change & Palm Oil Production. After volunteering in an orangutan sanctuary and rehabilitation centre in Borneo last summer it opened my eyes to the devastation deforestation caused to the country and wildlife. I had an epiphany and changed my life drastically. I no longer eat any products containing palm oil and turned vegan (a drastic u-turn from my meat & dairy heavy diet) –it has been proven the consuming animal products is the biggest cause in the acceleration of climate change.

Trump? Brexit?

Each to their own – the US and UK live in a democratic world after all…… (can you tell I’m trying to avoid answering this)

What cheers you up?

Weight-lifting as well as smiley, happy people and a good hug!

What is the last item you purchased?

Typical woman – went clothes shopping on my last pay day!

What is your biggest fear?

I don’t fear much apart from long beards!

If you could be any character from a film, who would you be?

Erin Brockovich… A ballsy, determined lady who didn’t let anyone get in her way!

If you could have one super power what would it be?

If I could have any super power I would want to be able to cure cancer, diabetes and heart disease

Name something you would like to change about the events industry?

The amount of waste that events contribute, especially plastic – there has been headway in the reduction of plastic and waste, but a lot more can and should be done to look after our planet.

Name one of your most embarrassing moments?

While collecting my chef’s diploma certificate at my graduation, I walked straight into the microphone and tripped over and fell flat on my face in front of my whole college

What is your life motto?

A lot of people say that everything happens for a reason, I believe everything that happens has a lesson to learn from it – it maybe hard to find at first, but it is there. Hard times are there to teach us!

Do you have any hidden talents?

I can cook really well (as I should after studying for a chefs diploma for 3 years) and I play the piano

Name your 3 favourite restaurants?

As I recently turned vegan, I love Dishoom, Andina & Genesis

Name the greatest event you have ever been to?

When I worked in Aspen, Colorado, I waitressed at a very high profile person’s birthday party – the extravagance of the venue, food, decorations and the outfits were insane! I can’t name names, but it has stayed in my memory for 20 years!
