Conference Aston has announced two senior appointments as the Birmingham venue continues to invest in delivering exceptional experiences for delegates, guests and event organisers.
Neil Wyatt has joined as General Manager of Catering and Housekeeping Services, while Curtis Holloway has been appointed Facilities Manager, bringing a wealth of hospitality expertise and operational experience to the venue.
Neil Wyatt joins Conference Aston with an extensive background in the industry, having spent decades developing award-winning hotels and driving operational strategies to enhance the customer experience. During his career, he played a key role in securing prestigious four-star accreditation and AA Rosettes, while consistently driving business growth and enhancing guest satisfaction.
As the Catering and Housekeeping GM, Neil will oversee the hotel’s restaurant, bar, kitchen and cleaning operations, with a clear focus on ensuring every visitor experiences the venue’s complete service offering and hospitality.
Neil said: “Conference Aston already had an excellent reputation, and my ambition is to build on that by making it the first choice for conferences, meetings and accommodation in Birmingham.”
A key part of that vision is enhancing the venue’s food and beverage offering. Alongside its established conference catering, Conference Aston is expanding its dining experience with exciting new trends and concepts across its function and à la carte menus. The new Aston Eats street food style room service offering was developed to meet the changing needs of the hotel’s business and leisure markets. Underpinning these developments is a commitment to placing greater emphasis on sustainability and locally sourced produce.
Neil added: “We’re working with fantastic local suppliers to showcase the very best of the region, incorporating wines from a South Staffordshire vineyard into our new wine list, whilst further enhancing our restaurant and bar with products from locally brewed ales and lagers to artisan cheeses and locally produced spirits. It allows us to offer something distinctive while supporting businesses within our community.”
Joining Neil is new Facilities Manager Curtis Holloway, whose career has progressed through a variety of hospitality and operational management roles. Curtis combines hands-on operational knowledge with formal project management training.
He is responsible for three core areas across the venue: facilities maintenance, health and safety compliance, and staff training. He will also oversee several significant improvement projects, including internal refurbishments and infrastructure upgrades.
Curtis said: “Providing a safe, well-maintained environment is fundamental to delivering a great delegate experience. My priority is ensuring our buildings and facilities continue to meet the highest standards while successfully delivering the improvement projects that will benefit our customers for years to come.”
