WeMakeEvents – Stand As One – Creative Demonstration

On 29th September there will be the We Make Events ‘Stand As One’ creative demonstration outside Parliament.

The demo is open to all event industry freelancers, full time employees & business owners affected by the shutdown of events due to Covid 19.

The organisation are asking the government for financial support for all 3 of these groups.

This will be a socially distanced, safe, organised showing of the people of our industry to Parliament.

Everyone will gather in Parliament Square & stand still & quiet for 30 minutes.

Bring Placards – please consider when writing them:

#WeMakeEvents is a non political organisation which has a fundraising effort in the same name.

It will jeopardise a lot of hard work if there are ‘down with the government’ & anti Boris signs etc. Tell of your plight, how this affects you, what you’ve lost but remember this is where we need to persuade Parliament to back us.

Wear face coverings – unless you have a medical reason not to. Everyone attending will need to register online for track & trace.

1. There is expected to be a lot of people. If you need to use public transport, please don’t use Westminster station. Pick stations around it & walk from there. We need to avoid overcrowding at pinch points.

2. Take all placards away with you. Leave no trace.

3. Don’t gather in pubs & bars in the surrounding areas afterwards.

4. Start gathering at 12.10 onwards. At 12.30 stand still & quiet, socially distanced until 13:00.

Then disperse in an orderly fashion on foot if possible.
