The MCC Foundation has raised over £63 000 to provide meals for the homeless

Tamanay Grinion, Events and Experiences Executive at Marylebone Cricket Club (Lord’s Cricket Ground) had the following to tell us “Across the events industry, caterers, events teams, and venues alike are teaming up to help people navigate through this challenging time. Marylebone Cricket Club and their charitable arm, The MCC Foundation, is no different. We’ve been raising funds to support a project headed by Unity Works, in partnership with Westminster City Council. The money raised helps Unity Works provide at least two nutritious meals every day to the 450 homeless people currently housed across Westminster in temporary hostels. So far, MCC members and supporters have raised over £63,000, which will provide at least 18,900 meals.

Giving medics the opportunity to avoid public transport altogether is another way that we are offering support where we can. We are currently providing 75 parking spaces for the staff at hospitals in the surrounding area, as well as storage space to Wellington Hospital, who are directly opposite Lord’s Cricket Ground. Working with the community and pulling together are things that the team at Lord’s are incredibly passionate about and very proud to do.  We will continue to support the community and each other in the months to come, wherever we can.”
