Dr Shani Dhanda has become a partner of the global think tank and advocacy network The Business of Events and a member of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Events.
A leading advocate for accessibility and inclusion, Shani works with organisations across sectors to improve standards and embed inclusive practice.
Her involvement follows her recent collaboration with The Business of Events and ICC Wales on the Access All Areas: Closing the Accessibility Gap initiative, which explored practical ways to improve accessibility across the events industry.
Through her new roles, the global speaker and broadcaster who has shared stages with Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton, will continue to contribute to industry-wide conversations on accessibility and inclusion, helping to inform policy discussions and support the development of more inclusive event practices across the sector. In 2025, Dr Shani co-founded the Accessible Events Show, which brings together event professionals, venues, suppliers, accessibility specialists and disabled people to drive practical change in how events are designed and delivered.
“Dr Shani’s work on the Access All Areas campaign with ICC Wales highlighted both the progress being made and the opportunities that remain to improve accessibility across our industry,” said a spokesperson from The Business of Events. “We are delighted to welcome her as a partner to The Business of Events and as a member of the APPG for Events, where her invaluable insight and experience will help inform ongoing policy and sector discussions.”
Dr Shani Dhanda said: “Working on Access All Areas with The Business of Events and ICC Wales has, once again, demonstrated the importance of practical, industry-led action to improve accessibility. I’m pleased to continue this work as a partner to The Business of Events and as a member of the APPG for Events, and I look forward to contributing to discussions that help make the events industry more inclusive for all.”
Shani will also speak at The Business of Events Policy Forum in July, where she will present findings from the Access All Areas initiative alongside ICC Wales, contributing to discussions on the future of inclusive events policy and practice.
The Business of Events Policy Forum, which will take place at IET London: Savoy Place on 7 July 2026, is an invitation-only event, but delegates can apply for tickets here.
