P&J Live welcomes EAGE Annual 2026 as Aberdeen joins global host city line-up

P&J Live, operated by Legends Global, will welcome the 87th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition to Aberdeen from 8 – 11 June 2026, reinforcing the city’s status as a natural home for major international events and a global centre of energy expertise.

The European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) is a professional organisation for geoscientists and engineers with worldwide membership.  It provides a platform for professionals in geophysics, exploration, geology, engineering, mining, civil engineering and energy transition to exchange ideas and information.

The 87th EAGE Annual Conference & Exhibition will bring around 5,000 geoscience and engineering professionals to Aberdeen next week, focused on the theme of Maximising Value Through Technology and Partnership

The event’s arrival in Aberdeen places the city in an international host destination portfolio that has previously included Vienna, London, Paris, Madrid, Copenhagen, Amsterdam and other leading European cities. For Aberdeen, it is a clear statement of confidence in both the city’s global profile and P&J Live’s ability to deliver large-scale, content-rich events for international audiences.

Long recognised as Europe’s energy capital, Aberdeen remains one of the most important energy cities in the world. Its heritage in oil and gas, North Sea expertise, subsea engineering and global supply chain capability continue to give the city international relevance. At the same time, Aberdeen is helping to shape the next chapter of energy, with growing strengths in renewables, hydrogen, carbon capture, digital technology and the transition to Net Zero.

The conference programme will explore some of the most pressing topics facing the sector, including the future of the North Sea, exploration, seismic innovation, carbon storage, artificial intelligence, collaboration, energy transition and the evolving geoscience workforce.

The technical and strategic programme will be supported by a major exhibition across the venue’s spacious arena and halls, with dedicated spaces including the Engineering Theatre, Digital Transformation Area and Energy Transition Area, and specialist content such as the Carbon Storage MMV Technology Showcase. The wider programme will also include field trips, student activity, a hackathon focused on the Energy and AI nexus, and an EAGE Geoscience Outreach Day for secondary school students from Aberdeen and the North East.

Steve Daun, head of sales – Associations, Legends Global said: “Welcoming EAGE Annual 2026 to P&J Live is a landmark moment for the venue, the city and the wider region. This is a truly global event, one that has been hosted by some of Europe’s leading cities, and its arrival in Aberdeen demonstrates the strength of both our venue and the wider destination, along with the international reputation Aberdeen continues to hold within the energy sector.”

“P&J Live was built to deliver events of this scale and ambition. We can bring major conference sessions, technical content, exhibition space, networking, hospitality and delegate services together across one connected campus, supported by on-site hotels, strong transport links and an experienced team.”

“This is exactly the kind of event that shows Aberdeen at its best. The city has a proud energy heritage, but it is also a place of innovation, partnership and future thinking. EAGE Annual 2026 will give thousands of international delegates the opportunity to experience that first hand.”

Laura Wilson, Head of Aberdeen Convention Bureau: “Aberdeen has always been an outward-looking city, with connections that reach around the world. As a centre of innovation, the region has been a pioneer within energy exploration, marine engineering, and energy technology; and continues to evolve as a hub for renewable energy, digital transformation, and research, building on centuries of expertise in industry, science, and global trade.

“Hosting EAGE Annual 2026 is another powerful reminder that our region remains a leader in energy, engineering, knowledge, and innovation.  It reflects the strength of our energy sector, the quality of our venue infrastructure and the collaborative approach that makes Aberdeen such an effective destination for major events.”

Marcus Arthur, Strategic Project Manager at EAGE concludes: “Aberdeen is an ideal host city for EAGE Annual 2026. It is a city with a deep energy heritage, a highly skilled workforce and an international reputation for solving complex technical challenges.  Our theme, ‘Maximising Value Through Technology and Partnership’, is highly relevant to Aberdeen and to the global geoscience and engineering community. The programme will look at how technology, collaboration and innovation can help us in solving the world’s greatest energy and resource challenges.”

“Delegates coming to Aberdeen will be meeting in a city where these issues are not theoretical. They are part of the local economy, the research base, the business community and the future of the region. That makes Aberdeen a powerful and authentic setting for EAGE Annual 2026.”
