Singing Waiters Offer Incredible Personalised Song Videos!

It’s never been more important to think outside the box for special occasions. With most of us still under restrictions and unable to see loved ones, one singing waiter company has decided to innovate – by creating personalised song videos, tailored to the recipient and occasion.

Imagine waking up on your locked-down birthday or Christmas, to receive a video link from your family – when opened, a pair of singers are singing songs from your favourite artist, rewritten to be all about you. Or, on another movie night at home, your partner presses play – but instead of the movie, it’s singers and musicians playing your song, with lyrics all about how deeply you are loved…before you turn to find them on one knee behind you…! The Tailors are a surprise singing group with a twist – not only do they go undercover at special events to surprise the guests with an incredible singing performances – but they also change all the lyrics to be about the person they are surprising, and key guests. Their lyrics include in-jokes and personalised humour to get the audience laughing their heads off – plus heartfelt sentiment which often makes recipients, and onlookers, teary. On a normal year, they’ll perform all over the UK at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and for proposals – and their personalised performances at events have gained over 7 million views across social media and their YouTube Channel, shared by their sister company, Club Mob. At the beginning of lockdown, they wrote and produced, all from home, this hilarious parody of the woes of a freelancer during the pandemic. Which got them thinking – was there a way to bring their personalised lyrics to people inside their homes? ‘At first we were concerned it wouldn’t translate’, says Alex, the founder of the group who writes all their work. ‘But, when we tried it, we found that it just…works. Because we get all the information for the lyrics from the friends and family themselves, it really feels like it’s coming straight from them – in this really original way. People get just as emotional over the videos, it’s beautiful. The only sad thing for us is that we can’t see the reaction live, like normal!’ They can also include photos and messages from family in the videos, to give it that extra personal touch.

For more info and to see the personalised video surprises in action, check out their website, which offers other virtual surprises too such as ‘Zoom Gatecrash’ (where a singer will enter a planned Zoom call as if by chance, and then surprise the guests with a personalised song medley!) And watch this space – the surprise singers will soon be offering personalised Christmas Carollers, a socially distanced doorstep experience, for those that want their loved one to be surprised in person. In a world where everything is uncertain, moments of surprise and wonder must go on!
