New CPD-accredited Marketing Academy launches to tackle critical skills gap in hospitality

Industry expert Rob Chamberlain unveils online training platform designed to improve marketing capability and drive commercial growth

A new CPD-accredited training platform has launched with the aim of addressing a critical but often overlooked issue in hospitality: a lack of formal marketing training.

The Rob Chamberlain Marketing Academy, developed specifically for hospitality and meetings and events professionals, provides a structured approach to building marketing capability, helping teams move beyond tactical execution to deliver meaningful commercial impact.

The launch comes at a time when recent research from Ipsos highlights a significant industry-wide capability gap. According to the report, only around one in three marketers meet basic marketing knowledge benchmarks, while those with formal training are significantly more confident, more effective in delivering measurable results, and more likely to remain in their roles long term.

With over 25 years’ experience in hospitality, meetings and events, founder Rob Chamberlain created the Academy to address what he sees as a fundamental barrier to growth across the sector.

“Hospitality businesses invest heavily in operations, service and sales training, but marketing is often expected to be learned on the job,” says Chamberlain. “The reality is that without proper training, marketing becomes reactive and inconsistent – and that ultimately limits commercial performance.”

The Academy is designed as a flexible, fully online programme for busy professionals, combining strategic foundations with practical application. The curriculum covers the full marketing process, from diagnosis and market research through to positioning, objective setting and execution across product, pricing and integrated communications.

The platform has received CPD accreditation, enabling learners to formally recognise their development while applying the learning directly within their roles.
