  • Green & Fortune has been appointed as exclusive partner for the museum’s restaurants, bars and events, including development and operation of four new food and beverage outlets

Leading independent hospitality business Green & Fortune has been appointed as the exclusive catering partner for the new London Museum – the city’s most anticipated new cultural development, opening this year.

Following a competitive tender process, the 10-year contract will see Green & Fortune collaborate with London Museum on four innovative and creative new hospitality spaces, ranging from relaxed all-day dining, cafe and grab-and-go formats, to a curated culinary events programme.

The collaboration will put London’s incredible food scene at the heart of the museum’s new home in Smithfield. There will be a focus on locally sourced and sustainably delivered menus, that respond imaginatively to the museum’s unique location and changing public programme of co-curated displays, major exhibitions and year-round events.

Green & Fortune will also lead catering for the museum’s venue hire events. Following a decade of careful renovation, the iconic Victorian General Market is set to become one of the most sought-after spaces in the capital. Spanning 150,000 square foot it will have capacity to host both intimate and large-scale private events including gala dinners, drinks receptions, product launches, and high-profile celebrations.

Housed in two landmark buildings, in the historic heart of the capital, London Museum is expected to welcome over two million visitors each year. It is supported by excellent transport links, with easy access to both major London airports and St Pancras International. Up to 80 new hospitality jobs will be created through the partnership.

John Nugent, Founder & CEO, Green & Fortune: “The ambitions and scale that the London Museum project brings, are rare to find. The opportunity to deliver a raft of new styles of service that represents the city, past and present, is incredible. As a deep-rooted London business, all at Green & Fortune are looking to shift the dial in what museums and galleries offer to their visitors, as well as to the wider eating and drinking community across the capital and beyond. We will deliver all of this with care and understanding, showcasing all that sets this great city apart.”

Sarah Miller, Managing Director, Green & Fortune says of the project: “With competition for tenders fierce across the board, we are extremely proud to have been chosen by London Museum as partner of choice for this groundbreaking new museum. It was clear to us from the outset that this project was an opportunity like no other. An opportunity to work as true partners: delivering some genuinely innovative hospitality concepts, combining creativity with our 18+ years of experience in retail and events catering and our passion for the city of London.”

Nathan Lamb, Director Experience and Enterprise, London Museum, says: “London’s food scene is part of what makes this one of the best cities in the world. Through our partnership with Green & Fortune, we’ll build on the rich heritage of our local neighbourhood and celebrate London’s vibrant food culture as a core part of the museum’s offer. Whether you’re travelling here as an international visitor, dropping in on your lunch break, meeting up with friends, or arranging a special event, we want to give visitors a real taste of the city.”

Founded in 2008 by John Nugent and Peter Millican, Green & Fortune is an award-winning hospitality company, known for its ability to create unique culinary and cultural destinations within multi-format sites. It is one of the two largest independent caterers which solely operates and invests in London, making it the perfect partner for London Museum.

The win supports what is an exciting chapter of growth for the catering firm with £20m+ revenue expected for 2026, up from £17.5m+ in 2024. It also follows last year’s senior leadership team appointments including Dan Rampart as Chef Director, Emma Williams into a business development-focused Director role, and Sarah Miller as Managing Director.

With more openings to be announced later this year and to mark this growth phase, Green & Fortune is also revealing a full brand refresh, including a new logo, brand identity and website: www.greenandfortune.co.uk

Green & Fortune operates across the full spectrum of hospitality retail and events, with a portfolio of multi-format venues in London, spanning cafes, restaurants, bars as well as private dining, workplace dining, large-scale events and culinary and cultural programming. It was the first hospitality operator to invest in the regeneration of King’s Cross – notably through the Kings Place development – and was instrumental in developing a meaningful sense of place in what is now one of London’s foremost creative and culinary hubs. Green & Fortune is proud to add London Museum to its existing portfolio of venues, which includes Central Hall Westminster, King’s Cross’ Rotunda Bar and Restaurant, Kings Place Events, Southwark’s Sea Containers Events and Rose Court Events.

More details about the partnership with London Museum will be announced later in the year.
