Iconic Manchester City Centre Hotel Unveils Fresh Look After £Multi-million Refurbishment

The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly hotel has completed a renovation project costing over £3million.

The refurbishment of the 4-star hotel’s 280 bedrooms and main reception area was completed over seven months. As part of the project, all bedrooms across the nine floors of the hotel have been redecorated with new soft furnishings, upcycled furniture and fresh carpets. The en-suite bathrooms have been revamped, and the rooms now feature upgraded flat screen 55’ smart TVs, USB charging points on the desks and bedside tables, and striking, Manchester-inspired artwork. The hotel’s main entrance now houses the new reception area and a coffee shop, perfect for welcoming guests.

The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly is a popular destination for meetings and events due to its scale, facilities, and central location. The hotel’s ‘International Suite’ is one of the largest event spaces in Manchester, accommodating up to 800 people, and there are plans to further invest in the hotel’s M&E spaces in 2024.

General Manager, Andrew Krawec aims to position the hotel as the go-to northern location for unforgettable meetings and events and said: “Manchester is a thriving destination for business and leisure guests alike, and we’re incredibly fortunate that our hotel is right at the heart of this amazing city. Manchester has a lot to offer in terms of hospitality, but very few hotels can beat the location and scale of the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly. We’ve taken guest feedback on board and are thrilled to have completed this significant renovation and elevated our hotel just in time for the busy festive period.

“We are the largest Accor hotel outside of London with conferencing and events spaces that are unmatched, and we can’t wait to ‘wow’ guests old and new with our stunning new entrance, bedrooms and facilities. We’re passionate about continued investment for both our hotel and the local community, and this is just phase one of some exciting changes for the Mercure Manchester Piccadilly hotel and its iconic location.”
