Exclusive Collection Goes the Distance Endurance challenge pays dividends for charities and client network

Exclusive Collection brought its client networking programme, Flock | Go The Distance, to a close with more formative learning and a prize giving to mark the completion of a 12-week schedule focussed on endurance in business and personal life.

Flock | Go The Distance brought Exclusive’s key clients together on a journey to better understand the capabilities of an endurance mindset. Drawing on the expert learnings and of elite sports people and adventurers, the network was taken on a development programme in four distinct stages:

  • Potential for endurance – whether an endurance mentality is a characteristic that is pre-disposed or can be learned.
  • Building a culture of support and the importance of building the right team and having shared goals.
  • Visualisation – preparation and contingency planning.
  • On the blocks – endurance in practice.

Speakers during the 12-week programme included Olympian Cath Bishop, Professor Chris Beedie, adventurer Nick Hollis and Mark Beaumont, BEM world record holder for cycling around the world in 79 days. Running concurrently with the learning and personal development was a challenge set for everyone to ‘Everest’ using online cycling platform Zwift. Weekly training rides were organised for the group to build their strength and power, while the monthly content sessions built personal resilience and teamwork.

At the final session prizes were presented by Manish Bhasin from Premier League Productions to the teams and individuals who had completed the virtual 8,848m cycle up Everest.

Danny Pecorelli, Exclusive Collection’s managing director, comments: “Under normal circumstances we’d be bringing clients together face-to-face for our Flock leadership events. However, we migrated the programme online with the same impact and outcomes: knowledge, networking and new skills and tactics for us all to put into play in our businesses and home lives. At the start of the journey when we told the participants our goal was to get them to climb 8,848 metres on a bike, they were sceptical of the goal. But having learned lessons from Olympians, adventurers and premier league football teams they all made the challenge, learned lots and best of all have collectively raised more than £20K for charity. Congratulations to everyone who took part.”
