The organisers of the ‘Events R Talented’ competition for everyone in the events industry have announced their plans for 2019.

An audience of around 60 professionals from both the events and PA industries heard the team’s plans for the coming year as well as their announcement that they would be raising funds for the Buses 4 Homeless Regional Outsource Project.

As well as hearing the name of the beneficial charity, the team also announced a major new fund-raising initiative via the production of a specially written song and accompanying music video focused on the homeless. The song was written and performed by last year’s ‘Events R Talented’ winner, Elizabeth Murphy.

On receipt of a minimum £10.00 donation, the donating party will receive a digital copy of both the song and video. If they donate at one of ERT’s events throughout the year, then they will receive a CD card promoting the song & video then receive their digital copy via email.

If they donate via the ‘Events R Talented’ donation page at https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-display/showROFundraiserPage?pageId=1083960 then they will receive a digital version of the card as well as the digital music & video.

As well as being entertained by a star of the West End, Ms Nicola Brazil with songs from the shows, enjoying some Caribbean buffet food, drinks and cocktails the audience also received a moving presentation from Dan Atkins of Buses4Homeless as well as the winners story from Elizabeth herself.

Another surprise on the evening was the announcement that Events R Talented will hold two auditions in the coming months,. The London auditions to be held at ‘Under The Bridge’ at Chelsea FC on Wednesday  4th September. The northern audition will be at The Midland Hotel in Manchester on Wednesday 9th October.

Ken Findlay from Events R Talented said –“We are delighted with the initial success of the song and we cannot thank Elizabeth enough for writing the song for us and then recording it. We received a great response so far and long may that continue via our PR campaign to raise more funds for Buses4Homeless, which is such a great charitable cause to support. Our thanks also go to Meeting Needs for helping us facilitate our fund-raising again this year.”

Dan Atkins, Co-Founder of Buses4Homeless, said: “We absolutely love the song and everything it stands by. A huge thanks to Elizabeth, Ken and the team for all their hard work and support. We greatly appreciate it. Money raised will go towards fitting a commercial kitchen so we can teach homeless people to prepare and cook nutritional meals for themselves and others. After that funds will go towards other B4H projects locally and across the country.”
