Event Photography Awards open online voting platform for new People’s Choice Awards

With time available having postponed the annual awards event, the organisers of the Off To Work Event Photography Awards have created an online judging platform that is open to all and will lead to a special set of People’s Choice Awards.

Twelve categories will be released over the coming weeks, in four sets of three, starting with Behind The Scenes, Brand Activations and Catering, before moving onto classes including Weddings, Corporate, Music, Sporting and a new Fashion Events category. The smart system asks judges to choose their top five photos in order of preference, who having subscribed, will be entered into a competition to win one of four pairs of tickets to the awards event, due to be held at No.4 Hamilton Place in Mayfair.

EPA Director, Graham Hill, commented: “The quality of entries this year is as high as ever, while entrants were up 50% year-on-year. Over 1,300 photos have been whittled down to 20-40 images per category, which are being assessed by our esteemed panel of the judges for the official awards. However, with time now on our side, we wanted eventprofs and the public in general to also have the chance to enjoy and judge them, leading to the People’s Choice Awards. It will be fascinating to see how closely the results correlate.”

Founder of the Event Photography Awards and MD of Off To Work, Philip Atkins, commented: “At this challenging time we all look back at and publicise photographs of past events, looking forward to when the industry can come out of this enforced hibernation. Indeed the importance of great photography with its ability to capture the energy and essence of events, amplifying their messages and justifying their budgets, has never been so evident. We hope this exciting new public voting platform will highlight the excellence and importance of the events industry, along with the exceptional photographers that work within it, to a wide and appreciative audience.”
