Event Buyers Live partners with Bridge Creative for 2023 event

A social enterprise that supports adults with learning disabilities and autism by removing barriers to employment is providing crew members to Event Buyers Live 2023.

Bridge Creative – headed up by Ben Tinkler – is working with the event’s organising and operations team, which is building on the event’s promises to improve and promote diversity, equality, and inclusion (DEI) within its own event and the wider live events industry.

Neil Fagg, founder of Event Buyers Live, said: “In 2022, Event Buyers Live made hugely positive steps to address DEI, acknowledge where we could improve our own processes, and promote DEI within the events industry.

“We introduced several policies and implemented a number of changes, which were recognised by our attendees. Like any organiser, we want to build on our achievements and make improvements – even the smallest – to improve the experience of everyone who touches our event.”

Fagg continued: “I met Ben earlier in the year and loved all that he and Bridge Creative stood for. Naturally, I am ecstatic that we will be working together, supporting Bridge Creative crew on our event, introducing the EBL audience to Ben and his team, and encouraging other organisers to provide employment opportunities in the events industry to people with learning disabilities and autism.”

Ben Tinkler, director of Bridge Creative, said: “For years, I have talked to the events industry about being open-minded and employing staff who have a learning disability or autism. Most of the time it’s just little things that can so easily be put in place to enable people to work at your events. I’ll happily offer advice to anyone thinking about how they can create opportunities for people at their events if it helps more people into work.

“Therefore, I am delighted that Neil and his team are working with Bridge Creative crew at Event Buyers Live and standing by their promise – to not only be a safe space to learn, develop and grow but also an event that highlights the importance of educating ourselves so that we become a more diverse and inclusive industry to be a part of.”
