The Design Museum has revealed its full exhibition programme for 2024, with three major figures – Tim Burton, Barbie and Enzo Mari – giving planners the opportunity to get creative with their events.

Guests will be able to step into the world of director and creative force Tim Burton in a major exhibition from October onwards, just in time for some spooky Halloween themed events. This exhibition represents the artist’s creative output from childhood to the present day and focusses on the recurrent visual themes and motifs found in the distinctive characters and worlds of Burton’s art and films.

One of the most significant Italian designers of the 20th century – Enzo Mari – will have a career-spanning retrospective from March. The exhibition, produced by Triennale Milano, span’s Mari’s 60-year career and will bring together hundreds of his projects, ranging from furniture, children’s books and games, product and graphic design to more conceptual installation-based works.

Coinciding with the 65th anniversary of the Barbie brand in 2024, a major show from July will explore the design evolution of one of the world’s most famous dolls and is timed perfectly for some fun, summer events at the museum. Through a new partnership with Mattel Inc., the Design Museum has been granted special access to the extensive Barbie archives in California with dozens of rare and unique items going on show.

The exhibitions will be available for private hire during events and provide the perfect starting point for a creative event concept and install that incorporates themes from the exhibitions. The Design Museum has a strong roster of production and catering partners who are on hand to help design a creative event experience.

Livia Puggini, Head of Commercial Hire & Events, comments: “We are excited that our full exhibition programme for 2024 has been released and we’re looking forward to incorporating these into the events we run next year. We’re very lucky to be home to such incredible exhibitions showcasing the work of talented individuals and high-profile brands and it gives organisers a great opportunity to create and design a standout event that ties in with the exhibitions.”
