The traditional meeting room is no longer enough, with businesses increasingly looking for venues that can combine productive meetings with opportunities to connect, collaborate and experience something together, according to Foxhills Club & Resort.
The 440-acre resort has recorded a 15% year-on-year increase in revenue generated by meetings and events during June, July and August, reflecting a growing demand for corporate experiences that extend beyond the boardroom.
Room hire revenue increased year on year during this period by 12%, while food and beverage revenue rose by 25% and 29% respectively. Corporate hotel bedroom bookings also increased by 7%, highlighting a growing appetite among businesses to extend their time at the resort and make greater use of its wider facilities.
Foxhills’ two championship golf courses, wellness facilities and extensive grounds have played a role in attracting corporate groups, with planners able to combine meetings with team building activities and experiences designed to bring colleagues together beyond the boardroom.
Foxhills’ financial results reflect a wider shift in corporate meetings, with businesses placing greater emphasis on bringing people together with purpose and creating experiences that support collaboration, connection and team engagement.
Kelly Elton, Director of Sales at Foxhills Club & Resort said: “Businesses are looking for experiences that make meetings and events memorable, allowing their guests to take part in more activities together and ultimately making time together count. We’re seeing more enquiries that look to combine productive meetings with opportunities to connect through more diverse team building activities and experiences, away from the usual working environment. Meeting and event planners have really made the most of what we have to offer here at Foxhills, from our range of meeting spaces to our golf courses, wellness facilities and new restaurant offering.”
