20 Years Running: Standard Chartered Great City Race Returns to the HAC

The Honourable Artillery Company (HAC) is set to welcome back the Standard Chartered Great City Race on Tuesday 22 July 2025, celebrating its landmark 20th edition. This long-standing partnership reflects a shared commitment to community, charitable impact, and strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) values.

Since its inception, the Great City Race has brought together thousands of corporate runners for a 5k challenge through the historic streets of the City of London. Once again, the race will start and finish within the HAC’s expansive grounds—offering a rare green space in the heart of the City and an inspiring setting for collective action and celebration.

This year’s event will once again support Futuremakers by Standard Chartered, a global initiative aimed at tackling inequality and promoting economic inclusion for disadvantaged young people. Over the years, the partnership between Standard Chartered and the HAC has helped to amplify the initiative’s impact, while also encouraging camaraderie, wellbeing, and philanthropy across the business community.  To date more than £14 million has been raised.

Sarah McQueen, Catering and Events Director at the HAC, comments: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome the Standard Chartered Great City Race back to the HAC, especially as it celebrates its 20th year. It’s been a real privilege to partner with Standard Chartered over the years, and we’re proud to support the incredible work being done through the Futuremakers initiative. This event is a brilliant example of how our grounds can bring people together, foster a sense of community, and help make a real difference.”

A proud supporter of charitable endeavours, the HAC looks forward to opening its grounds once more to welcome thousands of runners, supporters, and volunteers for what promises to be the most memorable and impactful edition of the Great City Race to date.
